The March 2017 Teachers Board Examination result is “To Be Announce” (TBA) by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) and the Board for Professional Teachers (BPT) once comprehensive checking of all examinees test papers is done. Complete results of the examination will be available here.

According to the PRC, the March 26, 2017 Licensure Examination for Teachers was conducted to more or less 100,000 examinees from all over the country. Most of the examinees are fresh graduate from school year 2016 which has the highest percentage of examinees, and re-takers from those who were not able to pass from the previous examination. The examination was conducted in different testing centers all over the Philippines that include: Bacolod Testing Center, Baguio Testing Center, Cagayan de Oro Testing Center, Catarman (Northern Samar) Testing Center, Cebu Testing Center, Davao Testing Center, General Santos Testing Center, Iloilo Testing Center, Legazpi Testing Center, Lucena Testing Center, Manila Testing Center, Puerto Princesa (Palawan) Testing Center, Rosales (Pangasinan) Testing Center, San Jose (Occidental Mindoro) Testing Center, Tacloban Testing Center, Tuguegarao Testing Center, Pagadian Testing Center and Zamboanga Testing Center.
In every scheduled examination the PRC and the BPT had to assign officers to take over and supervise the examination. The March 26, 2017 examination was handled and supervise by the following officers which are composed of Dr. Rosita L. Navarro, Chairman; Dr. Paz I. Lucido, Dr. Paraluman R. Giron and Dr. Nora M. Uy, Members.

Coverage of Exam and Passing Percentage

Normally, the PRC and BPT give to the Teacher’s Examination the coverage to different levels. For the Elementary Level: General Education 40% & Professional Education 60%, with the total  of 100%, while the  Secondary Level has three parts: General Education 20%, Professional Education 40% and Specialization 40% also with the total of 100%.

The major areas of the test is covering General Education (English, Filipino, Mathematics, Science and Social Sciences), Professional Education (Teaching Profession, Social Dimensions of Education, Principles of Teaching, Education Technology, Curriculum Development, Facilitating Learning, Child and Adolescent Development, Assessment of Student Learning, Developmental Reading, Field Study and Practice Teaching).

For Secondary Examination is depending on the field of chosen course that includes English, Filipino, Biological Sciences, Physical Sciences, Mathematics, Social Studies or Social Sciences, Values Education, MAPEH, Agriculture and Fishery Arts and Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE).

According to the PRC, the average passing score that the examinee should get the score in order to pass the Teacher’s Board is not lower than 75% and must have no rating lower than 50% in any of the tests.

It is the standard operating procedure in the Philippines that in order to practice teaching profession, all of the Education graduates must have to secure first the professional license by passing the Teacher’s Board Examination given by the PRC. In the absence of the professional license, one may be sanctioned or face fine and imprisonment if possible depending on the offense once violation is committed.

Probable Release Date of Teachers Board Exam Results

The table below shows the summary from the past several years of Teachers Board Examination released. Based on our equation here, the possible result will be between the dates from May 10 to 24, that is 30-40 working days or equivalent to 7-9 working weeks.

On the other hand, the PRC has given their expected date to release the March 26, 2017 Teachers Board Examination on Friday, May 19, 2017 by virtue of Resolution No. 2016-1019 which  count is 37 working days after the date of examination.

The PRC considers on their counting to give the target date of release for the examination result not including on their counting the 7 Saturdays & Sundays and the 3 holidays (Maundy Thursday) dated April 13, Good Friday, April 14 and one (1) Labor Day dated on May 1. With respect to this counting, it appears that there is about a total of 54 calendar days or approximately two months on their computation to come up with the target release of exam result.

Data show from the past 4 years for almost the same number of days the exam results was release. For the average of 88,000 examinees with the 31.14% passing rate was release in 35 days.

However, the March 2015 examination result was officially published online in 38 working days with the total number of examinees of 100,740 actually took the examination with 30,000 passers that is about 29.79%.

Another record from the table of summary, is the January 2015 examination result which was published in 32 working days only, while the March 2013 examination results was also aired in 27 working days only.

In consideration, release of the examination results may vary from unexpected circumstances that effect the possible date of announcement such factors may be affecting are the increase of total number of takers, the manner of checking for the pencil-based examination and other factors beyond control.

What to Do Before the Target Date of Release on May 19, 2017

On April 9, 2017, the man who was known for his riddle to give the hint for the day of your success in taking the examination, Dr. Carl Balita shared on his Facebook account his first riddle, saying;

“When the 1st working day of the 7-day cycle mirrors an identical digit in the 5th lunar cycle of the year, LET the DREAM and the DREAMER become ONE…”

Our humble interpretation of his riddle goes like this: The fifth lunar cycle of the year happens between May 3 and May 26. The first working day of the 7-day cycle and the identical digit may be referring to May 22 (Monday).

On May 3, 2017, Carl Balita again gives hint of date release; on May 22 guess release of LET results.

“May 2 na pala. Isang 2 na lang, LET result na…”

At another time, he said; on May 8, 2017 last update: “2 Mondays to go before the awaited results of LET”

LET History of Top Performing Schools

Last year examination on March 2016, there was no qualified school proclaimed by the PRC for the Top Performing Schools for Elementary Level as per Commission Resolution No. 2010-547 series of 2010. Meanwhile, the PRC announced the Top Performing in Secondary Level and it was published under the name of the school of University of the Philippines (UP) – Diliman with 93.44% which percentage is coming from 57 out of 61 examinees passed.

Another record of Top Performing Schools hailed to  De La Salle University (DLSU)-Manila and University of the Philippines (UP) – Diliman on March 2015 Teacher’s Board Examination in the Elementary Level for their 100% passing rate. While on Secondary Level goes to UP-Diliman with their score of 95.24% passing rate.

Published and Highly Honored LET Topnotchers

During the March 2016 Licensure Examination for Teachers, for the Elementary Level, the PRC hailed Rowena Miano Hingpit graduated from University of Mindanao (UM) – Davao City as the Topnotcher with her score of 90.60%. And for the Secondary Level hailed Topnotcher is Michael Prince Notorio del Rosario from Lorma College with his score of 92.00%.

On March 2015 Licensure Examination for Teachers, Vincent Atienza Isidro from the University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman ranked for the first place in Elementary Level with his score of 90.40%. And for the Secondary Level, the top scorer is Herminigilda Cabrera Notario of North Valley College Foudation Inc. with her score of 91.40%.

When to Register and Receive the Professional ID

The PRC will announce or publish memo on their website the date when to receive the Certificate of Registration and get the Professional Identification Card (ID).

Bring the following when you get your Professional Identification and Certificate:

  • Notice of Admission
  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal
  • Two pieces Passport size pictures colored with white background and complete nametag
  • Two sets of documentary stamps.

Successful passers, you are also hereby requested to personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals.

Successful examinees are also advised to check the schedule of oathtaking ceremony. PRC will announce the date and venue for the professional ingathering.
