Breaking News Magnitude 4.2 Earthquake Jolts Mindanao on May 26, 2017

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) releases a statement that a Magnitude 4.2 Earthquake jolts Wao (Lanao Del Sur) on Friday morning at around 1 a.m. May 26, 2017. The location is 07.57°N, 124.71°E – 010 km S 26° W. Origin is TECTONIC and 015 Depth of Focus (Km).

PHIVOLCS also announces cities with the reported Intensities: Intensity II – Cagayan De Oro City, Instrumental Intensity, and Intensity II – Cagayan De Oro City.

Phivolcs added, “There is no reliable technology in the world that can confidently predict the date, time and location of large earthquakes.”
