‘Tourism Must Be Prioritized’ To The Presidential Bet

Sen. Juan Edgardo Angara yesterday urged presidential candidates to make tourism development a priority during the next administration.He called on leading bets to present their plans on how to sustain Philippine tourism’s significant growth over the past years.It is now very important to the growing economic of the country.

Angara said that based on Department of Tourism (DOT) data, the country welcomed a total of 5.36 million foreign visitors last year.This translates to an 11-percent growth from the 4.83 million foreign visitors in 2014.Angara, vice chairman of the Senate tourism committee, said that even with outstanding promotion, growth in the tourism sector is limited because of lack of infrastructure and facilities.

We need to improve our facilities to be able to the visitors to feel the convenient in our country. And it is very important now because the percentage of our visitors every year were increasing compare to any other years before.
