Watch! PWD Karlo Mojica Receives Standing Ovation During Blind Audition of “The Voice PH Season 2”

Karlo Mojica is making rounds on social media after proving himself even if he is a person with disability (PWD) but he was able to receive standing ovation from all judges and audience during the blind audition of “The Voice of the Philippines” Season 2 on Sunday, October 2, 2014.

Mojica is now a new inspiration to those who have the same situation with PWD that having a physical handicap is not a hindrance in pursuing one’s dream to achieve.

Karlo MojicaDuring the blind audition of The Voice PH, Karlo Mojica was on his wheelchair because his legs has no strength to walk by himself, come up on stage to show off his talent that turned two judges, Bamboo and Apl.de.ap, but at the end of his performance, all of the four coaches wowed for him and he receives standing ovation not only from the four judges but from the studio audience as well.

“Hindi lang ako umikot dahil ‘yung team na parang bini-build ko, parang it’s not quite what I’m looking for. Pero noong umikot na itong dalawa, hindi, tama na. These two are the right guys for you. So, congratulations that you made it in,” Lea Salonga said.

“Wow, nakakataba ng puso ho na makita kayo na talagang buong-buo ang pangarap ninyo, at talagang buong-buo din ang puso ninyo na habulin ‘yun, na yakapin ‘yun. Salamat po,” Sarah Geronimo told Mojica.

“Napakasarap ng damdamin ng boses mo. That was an amazing performance. We have a similar story. I myself I’m disabled, I’m legally blind but I never let that stop me in achieving my dreams. And I see that, I see that in your heart, in your soul, and I think talagang bagay na bagay na tayo at matutulungan natin ang isa’t isa. Sana mapunta ka sa team ko,” apl.de.ap. said.

“Sa totoo lang, akala ko ako lang ang umikot eh. Ginawa ko, pinplay down ko pa, steady lang ‘yung mukha ko, huwag kang maging excited. Tapos, may sumama eh. I guess ‘yun ‘yun eh. Akala namin kami lang, kasi ‘yung boses mo, nahuli kami. ‘Yung lumalabas sa’yo ay totoo,” Bamboo said.

At the end, Mojica chose Coach Bamboo to be his mentor on his journey to The Voice PH considering that they have the same thing in common of the band experiences.
