Kai, the youngest among five Honasan siblings showed off her unique talent in singing using guitar with her own. Her performance was able to turn the four chairs of the Voice PH. Aside from playing guitar, the 25-year-old Makati City girl is a classical pianist and plays ukulele.

Kai HonasanWhen asked what motivated her in joining the Voice PH blind audition, daughter Kai said she was inspired by her father and she want to prove herself to her dad that she can make her own story.

“This is me, trying to prove to my dad that I can make my own story,” she said.

During the blind audition of ‘The Voice PH Season 2’ on Sunday episode, Kia was able to impress the four judges with her new twist of Katy Perry’s hit, “Teenage Dream.” Coach Sarah G was the last judge turned her chair just before she ended her song.

Normally, when there are four judges turned their chairs during the blind audition, each of the judges should give their comments to give the contestant a hint for the perfect coach to assist every qualified singer all throughout the competition.

The judges’ comments:

“Yung song na ‘yan kasi, napaka-familiar sa lahat nang mga nandito ngayon. So, you sat there with a ukulele, and it was just perfection. Maganda eh, malamig, malamig pakinggan. ‘Yung boses mo, masarap sa tenga. So sana ‘yung team ko ‘yung piliin mo,” Lea Salonga said.

“Kai, i just want to say, your voice is, there’s nobody like it. I like you to be on my team,” apl.de.ap told Honasan.

“Kai, ‘yung klase ng style, hindi the usual na bumibirit, powerful ‘yung voice, pero, ‘yun ‘yung kailangan natin eh. Gusto kong yakapin ‘yung chance na ‘yun na i-angat ka naman, ‘yung mga artist na tulad mo. Sana bigyan mo ako ng chance,” Geronimo said.

“Who has been crazy enough, brave enough, to bring artists like yourself forward to battles, forward to the semis. People say, ‘Hindi ‘to bumabagay, it doesn’t fit sort of a spectrum.’ Sa akin, it doesn’t matter. Ako, it’s about artistry, it’s about growth over prize. Ako lang, I think I’ll be a good coach, right, Dad?” Bamboo said.

Eventually, Kai chose Coach Bamboo to be her mentor in her journey to The Voice PH. Kai is the second member of the Team Bamboo, together with rocker Tanya Diaz, who also turned four chairs in the show’s pilot episode.
