Showbiz broadcast journalist Jobert Sucaldito shout out in his official Facebook Account about the unfair practice of giving Star Awards for movies in the country. In his message posted in Facebook Page he has highlighted that the winning factor of Vice Ganda’s 30th Philippine Movie Press Club (PMPC) award was paid.

According to Sucaldito, his man, Jorge Estregan was the next in line for Best Actor in the film “Boy Golden” following after the first man in the line Joel Torre for the movie “On the Job” based on the preferences of the PMPC voting committee.

One of the PMPC members informed him two weeks before the awarding, if he will not do something in favor for his man to win the Star Awards because according to Sucaldito citing the statement from one of the members of PMPC informing him, that they could not give the most coveted awards to Joel Torre the “rightful winner” (the exact term used by Sucaldito) in the since that he cannot afford to pay the voting members.

Sucaldito made his best effort to “lobby” his man for the Best Actor thinking that, if the “rightful winner” that supposed to be given to Joel Torre could not avail the PMPC’s majority voting, so, that would probably goes to the next in line which is his man Jorge Estregan.

But at the end, Vice Ganda proclaimed the 30th PMPC Movie Actor of the Year for his hit 2013 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “Girl Boy Bakla Tomboy.”

However, the PMPC has yet to clear up regarding the claims of Jobert Sucaldito.

  1. You got it wrong there Jobert! Lobbying is acceptable as long as it’s legal. And paying a juror?? Is that even legal? Well maybe in PMPC. Maybe in Star Awards. But don’t drag the name of the Oscars here because their voting system is very confidential and strict. Do you actually know what you’re talking about? And they don’t get paid! Unlike our jurors here na sila pa pala ang nag open-up (if your allegations are ture). Gol! I don’t know what would Joel Torre feel that he didn’t get the award cause they can’t afford to pay! You’re all cohorts Jobert! Pare-parehu lang kayo!
