The preliminary investigation scheduled on Friday, February 14, 2014 by Department of Justice (DOJ) in connection to the mauling case of Vhong Navarro last January 22, 2-14 was postponed because there was no appearance of Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee before the court.
In behalf of Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee, Atty. Arleo Magtibay represented in the court to explain that his clients chose to attend different hearing in Taguig regarding the temporary protection order plea against Vhong Navarro.
But according to a separate report posted online the appeal for protection order requested by Cornejo and Lee in Taguig court has been disapproved long time ago since there was no probable cause to grant the petitioners.
The lawyer of Deniece Cornejo and Cedric Lee assured before the Department of Justice that his clients will appear on the next hearing.
On the other hand, Vhong Navarro’s camp have indicated that he cannot attend the preliminary hearing due to the reason that he is still “emotionally and physically” affected that he cannot afford to face his attackers at the time.
