Mommy D

Mommy Dionesia, the mother of Sarangani Congressman Manny Pacquiao expressed her sentiment Wednesday, November 27, 2013 against the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) for the reason of garnishing her son’s bank account in relation to P2.2-billion tax evasion case.

In the segment of “Umagang Kay Ganda” Mommy D speaks out that she felt bad to the BIR in doing this to hes son after giving inspiration to the typhoon Yolanda victims and lifted up the spirits of Filipino people, giving honor to the country through his recent victory against the American boxer, Brandon Rios.

Mommy D was crying after watching the television program thinking of her son, “Bakit ganyan ang nangyari? Kawawa naman ang anak ko. Bakit ginulo pa sa mga BIR?” she asked.

According to Mommy D, the freezing of Manny’s bank account is unfair because the people know that his money was not stolen from the government.

“The money he kept on bank is not stolen. That is his income from his boxing career, it’s between sweat and blood at stake just to earn that money. I’m sure it’s not coming from the government. Why it’s happening to him,” said Mommy D.

“To win the fight against Rios is quite easy but fighting against the BIR is not.” As a matter of fact, her son has made payment of all the taxes, she added.

On Tuesday, Congressman Pacquiao confirmed that his bank account was under bank’s control according to the order of the BIR. He then forced to borrow money for the financial aid he has promised to the typhoon victims in Visayas.
