After winning the fight against the American boxer, Brandon Rios in Macau, the professional boxer and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao went home to fulfill his promised to the victims of typhoon Yolanda in Visayas region.

In preparation to his visit to the typhoon victims in Visayas, he was surprised after knowing that he could not withdraw even a single centavo from his bank account.

He learned that the Tax Bureau ordered to freeze his bank accounts due to a P2.2-billion tax case. The said issue forced him to borrow money just to give financial aid to Visayas typhoon victims as he promised.

According to Mommy Dionesia, the mother of Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, “To win the fight against Rios is quite easy but fighting against the BIR is not.”

After fighting Rios in the boxing arena, Pacquaio is having his fight in the country against the BIR.

The BIR claimed that Pacquiao is earning more than to what actually he did but no evidence to support the allegation. The BIR also ignored the information given to their office by the Top Ran promotion and HBO. This time Pacquiao’s lawyer is giving all information the BIR is needed but it seems that they still refuse to believe.

The Sarangani Congressman is now asking the Court of Tax Appeals to settle the bank freeze of his account, but the court said that everything is done through the process according to the court papers.
