The Philippine National Police (PNP) released the mugshot of Deniece Cornejo after her surrendered to the authorities of Camp Crame. Cornejo is one among the 5-people charged with serious illegal detention in connection with case filed by the comedian actor and TV host Vhong Navarro during the mauling incident that took place on January 2, 2014 at Forebeswood Heights condominium at the Bonifacio Global City.
Cornejo spends the night on Monday, May 5, 2014 at the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group’s Anti-Transnational Crime Unit detention cell where most of the female inmates are detained. She will be brought to the Taguig Regional trial Court the following day, Tuesday, May 06, 2014 where she will be staying for her life being prisoned, says CIDG head Chief Supt. Benjamin Magalong.
Serious illegal detention is a criminal case under the category of a non-bailable offense but according to her lawyer they will file a petition for bail in the court because the evidence against the 22-year-old Deniece Cornejo is weak.
Aside from Cornejo, there are other two defendants of the said serious illegal detention case, businessman Cedric Lee and Simeon “Zimmer” Raz, Jr. who were captured earlier by the policemen in Oras, Eastern Samar on April 26, 2014.
