Provincial Health Officer Dr. Ernell Tumimbang confirmed one (1) patient under investigation (PUI) in Negros Occidental due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) disease. This patient under investigation (PUI) is from EB Magalona and was referred to a hospital in Bacolod City after being diagnosed with flu-like symptoms.

According to Tumimbang, this person does not have any travel history in other countries but contracted with a Japanese National. Tamimbang said that they are still getting more details on the patient whether it is female or male.

Negros Occidental and Bacolod remain Covid-19 free. As of March 10, 2020, the Department of Health announced that there were 33 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines.

As of March 10, 2020 Evening, more than 116,458 people have been infected and over 4,091 have died worldwide from the novel coronavirus, have reached some 80 countries and territories. There are 64,750 recovered from the epidemic disease.
