March 15, 2020, Civil Service Exam SUSPENDED due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Civil Service Commission (CSC) has suspended the Career Service Examination – Pen and paper test, nationwide on Sunday, March 15, 2020. The CSC has decided to follow the orders of President Rodrigo Duterte as he declares that the country will be subject to the State of Public Health Emergency for Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

The civil service exams are set to be implemented in 66 testing centers nationwide, a total of 295,711 individuals taking the test. A total of 253,811 registered examinees will take the exam at the professional level and 49,900 at the sub-professional level.

Suspension of career service exams is still part of the precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus. In the official website of CSC, they stated that it is necessary to suspend the exams as a preemptive health measure to mitigate the rise in the number of COVID-19 cases and to support the national and local government units in undertaking appropriate response and measures in a timely manner to curtail and eliminate the COVID-19 threat.

As of March 11, 2020, the Department of Health announced that there were 33 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines.

As of March 11, 2020 morning, more than 118,661 people have been infected and over 4,269 have died worldwide from the novel coronavirus, have reached some 80 countries and territories. There are 65,105 recovered from the epidemic disease.
