Negros Occidental Officials Suggests a Suspension of Classes & Graduation Rites due to Coronavirus (COVID-19)

The Negros Occidental Provincial Council is now pushing for the earlier dismissal of classes and cancelation of graduation activities in the province to prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19). The resolution was tabled by Board Member Agustin Bascon, chair of the committee on education and Board Member Araceli Somosa, chair of the committee on health, source iFM Bacolod.

Just this afternoon, the Department of Health announced that there were 33 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Philippines.

The Department of Health said on Tuesday, do not panic and make sure to do some preventive measures. Such as Frequent handwashing with soap, avoid unnecessary contact between the hand and mouth & Nose, Eat well-cooked meat & egg or avoid them and make use of a face mask while going to public gathering places.

As of March 10, 2020 Evening, more than 116,458 people have been infected and over 4,091 have died worldwide from the novel coronavirus, have reached some 80 countries and territories. There are 64,750 recovered from the epidemic disease.
