K-pop superstar Rosé of BLACKPINK is buzzing with anticipation as her debut solo project, “APT.”, is now being considered for Grammy nominations, marking a significant milestone in her burgeoning solo career.
The multi-talented artist, known for her distinctive voice and emotive performances, has captured the attention of both fans and industry experts worldwide. Her solo work on “APT.”, which blends soulful ballads with contemporary pop and R&B elements, showcases her artistic versatility and emotional depth beyond the girl group’s signature style.
Rosé thought back on being nominated for her first Grammy for her popular song “APT.”
Rosé revealed in an interview with Billboard that she was surprised by the nomination and expressed her gratitude for the recognition of a song with strong cultural roots.
“Never in a million years would I have thought that this would happen to be nominated for a Grammy. But I think most importantly, I feel like the song that is being celebrated and being nominated for the Grammy contains so much of my culture in it,” she remarked.
Rosé went on to say that the acknowledgment strengthened her conviction about the importance of inclusion and cultural representation. “It proves to me also that culture is loved. Different cultures are being accepted, regardless of ages, different backgrounds and cultures, everyone has been enjoying it so much and I’ve been watching that, and it’s really just really blown my mind away. And so it means so much to myself, my younger self who grew up feeling like that would not be a possibility,” she stated.
While the official Grammy nominations will be announced in the coming months, the buzz around Rosé’s solo work signals her expanding influence in the global music scene.
If nominated, Rosé would join the ranks of other K-pop soloists making waves internationally, further solidifying K-pop’s place on the world stage.
