During a recent Senate hearing, Senator Raffy Tulfo brought to light the departure of renowned toy collector Yexel Sebastian and his partner, Mikee Agustin, to Nagoya, Japan. The senator’s statement came amidst allegations of a possible connection between the couple and a P200-million investment scam. The hearing aimed to shed light on the matter and ascertain whether the allegations had any merit.

Senator Tulfo’s involvement in this case began when he received complaints from individuals who claimed to be victims of the alleged scam. These individuals voiced their concerns on his radio program, prompting the senator to take action and bring the issue to the Senate’s attention. The investigation into Yexel Sebastian and Mikee Agustin’s involvement in the investment scheme has garnered significant public interest, and the Senate hearing serves as a critical step toward uncovering the truth behind these allegations.

“Mayroon akong kakilala, kasabay niya sa eroplano itong dalawang magkasintahan sakay ng Cebu Pacific going to Nagoya, Japan. Hindi ko alam kung ito’y tatakas na or baka pupunta doon sa Nagoya para mag-recruit na naman ng investors.”

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has indeed confirmed this, asserting that Yexel Sebastian and Mikee Agustin did not have a hold departure order and had no derogatory record, which allowed them to exit the country without hindrance.

The BI further elaborated that in the event of necessary actions related to the case, the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) could issue a lookout bulletin for Sebastian and Agustin. However, this would require the filing of a formal complaint with the prosecutor’s office against them, triggering appropriate legal procedures and potential restrictions on their movements.
