After hazing incidents, former Rodrigo Duterte called for the banning of fraternities and sororities in schools all over the nation.

According to the former President, this is the perfect moment to prohibit all fraternities and sororities in all Filipino schools. On an SMNI show, Duterte declared that if they do not want what happened to John Matthew Salilig to happen again, they should keep the students out of fraternities.

“If you want really an honest answer, if you want to do away with hazing and other harmful practices in a fraternity, iyong solusyon ni [Juan Ponce] Enrile eh tama talaga, totally banned iyong fraternities pati sororities in our schools,” Duterte remarked.

Duterte confesses to being a member of the fraternity and being a victim of hazing. He also stated that he is a Lex Talionis member at San Beda and that Juan Ponce Enrile is a Sigma Rho member at the University of the Philippines (UP).
