Shamcey Supsup, the national director of Miss Universe Philippines, expressed surprise at the Miss Universe 202 selection and wrote this message to Celeste Cortesi, the country’s candidate.
Shamcey has supported the PH’s bet throughout the pageant night ever since she was appointed National Director. But there were reports that she and Jonas Gaffud, the creative director of MUPH, had left Celeste.
Shamcey Supsup attempted to refute the claims that they left Celeste Cortesi following failing to place in the Top 16 in an interview with ABS-CBN reporter Dyan Castillejo just after competition.
Shamcey also left a lovely message for Celeste in an Instagram post.
“You fought bravely to raise the Filipino flag on that stage, and what truly matters is that you gave it your all and made your country proud,” Shamcey Supsup stated.
She added that Miss Universe Philippines will keep its doors open to women in order to provide them with a platform where they may discover a purpose greater than themselves.
