In Manila, Philippines, backers of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy, the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC), gathered outside the Senate building as the Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality reconvened its public inquiry into the allegations of s6xual misconduct against Quiboloy.
Senator Ana Theresia “Risa” Hontiveros, who heads the committee, initiated a resolution urging a Senate probe into the purported incidents of extensive human trafficking, rape, s6xual abuse, violence, and child exploitation involving Quiboloy.
Despite being summoned by the Hontiveros committee, Quiboloy has consistently declined to participate in the Senate investigation, asserting that only a court holds the authority to determine guilt or innocence.
Hontiveros cautioned that if Quiboloy failed to attend today’s hearing, scheduled for March 5, she would take measures to have him apprehended.
