Vice Ganda Releases Statement About Charges of Violating Cybercrime Law with Ion Perez

Christine

A lawyer who represented himself as a representative of a group of “social media broadcasters” recently filed a lawsuit against “It’s Showtime” hosts Vice Ganda and Ion Perez with the Quezon City Prosecutor’s Office for violating the cybercrime law.

In an email sent to members of the press, Atty.  LeoOlarte, president of the Kapisanan ng mga Social Media Broadcasters ng Pilipinas Inc., is just the very first in a series of lawsuits that his group will file against violators of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

“Contrary to the loose talk maliciously circulating around the grapevine: The KSMBPI criminal case versus Vice Ganda and Ion Perez was never triggered nor influenced in any way by the MTRCB or its 12-day suspension of the ABS-CBN television show ‘It’s Showtime,” he stated.

“As a matter of fact as I speak now we are preparing to file a second criminal case versus Vice Ganda and Ion Perez in court,” Olarte further added in his statement.

As of this writing, we are still waiting for Vice Ganda and Ion Perez’s statements about the charges they are facing.
