espite winning the Miss Tourism World title, actress-beauty queen Herlene “Hipon” Budol will not represent the Philippines.

At the recently ended Miss Grand Philippines competition, Herlene was named Miss Philippines Tourism.

After her crowning, several pageant supporters anticipated that she will represent the country in the Miss Tourism World Pageant in 2023. Herlene has even declared that she intends to keep having her interpreter in the international beauty competition.

However, this is not the case. The Hiyas ng Pilipinas pageant posted franchise certificates on the official Facebook page of the organization, including one for the Miss Tourism World pageant in London, which the “Magandang Dilag” star was said to be participating.

“Miss Grand didn’t mention that it’s Miss Tourism World , people are just the ones mentioning it. I’m not really sure where the confusion is. Insofar as the legalities are concerned, at Hiyas ng Pilipinas we have the grants, and we have the franchise licenses,” Hiyas ng Pilipinas Chairman Mike Sordilla shared.

Based on the article, prior to acquiring the Hiyas ng Pilipinas pageant earlier this year, Sordilla possessed the Miss Tourism World license and had crowned a representative in its first staging last year.
