The five passengers aboard a submarine last saw on Sunday; without oxygen, they would die unless they can be rescued from the wreckage of the Titanic. Therefore, they have enough oxygen to last for at least 30 hours. The Titanic is located well under the ocean’s surface, and a little submarine has been sent to locate it.
Dr. Ken LeDez, a hyperbaric medicine expert at Memorial University in St John’s, Newfoundland said on BBC News, “It depends on how cold they get and how effective they are at conserving oxygen,”
He said that hypoxia develops gradually over time. When asked how quickly one’s metabolism drops in colder weather, he compared it to ascending a mountain, saying, “It’s not like switching off a light, it’s like climbing a mountain.”
The submarine allegedly was operated using a video game controller, according to reports. One that plays Xbox 360 games.
They also paid $250,000 for an underwater tour of the shipwreck. These famous, wealthy individuals did this, most likely for research purposes.
The navy and all available resources are now working to locate these five individuals before they exhaust their oxygen supply.
