DepEd-Davao is conducting an investigation to the kindergarten teacher who reportedly tore up a student’s activity paper.

The Department of Education-Davao Region (DepEd-Davao) is currently investigating into a kindergarten teacher who claimed tore up a student’s activity paper in a fit of anger due to the child’s conduct. According to DepEd-Davao spokesperson Jenelito “Dodong” Atillo, the inquiry is being conducted to guarantee that proper process is observed.

The incident was brought to public attention earlier this week when the student’s mother, Joyjoy Alvarado, expressed about it on her Facebook page. The unhappy mother, who asked to remain anonymous, expressed her dissatisfaction with how the teacher corrected her son.

The incident occurred in a school in Davao City’s Barangay Lacson, Calinan District.

According to Alvarado, her kid returned home from school in tears and told her about what had happened. She quickly informed the teacher through chat, but the teacher justified her actions, claiming that it was her own way of punishing the noisy kids in class.

DepEd-Davao is currently conducting a comprehensive investigation to ensure that the event is handled effectively and in compliance with standard procedures.
