JUST IN: Tau Gamma Phi Announces About Member Recruitment Issues

Tau Gamma Phi is giving perks to student recruits solely to join their fraternity, according to a worried student.

An Adamson University student disclosed the organization’s recruitment tactics used by Tau Gamma Phi. In his affidavit, Ryan Camanyang, a 21-year-old third-year electrical engineering student, stated that he had been “courted” for joining Tau Gamma Phi for a very long time.

But in December of last year, under pressure from a buddy, he agreed. In his affidavit, Camanyang stressed the advantages of joining Tau Gamma Phi. They offered benefits like a P3,000 payment every semester for joining their fraternity and instructors who are TGP members who will help students with their coursework, among other things.

On the other hand, when Camanyang’s father went with him to the NBI, he was quite worried. The father expressed his fear for his younger child to Politiko, an online news source, and urged him to help with the inquiry.

According to the report, Camanyang’s submission to the NBI included hundreds of pages of group talks of members of his fraternity who took part in the hazing in which another Adamson University student, John Matthew Salilig, died. The group chat was destroyed, but its destruction is unclear.

Camanyang claims that his sister helped him ask Facebook for the details of their group conversation from February 16–19, 2023. According to his attorney, they received a copy of the group conversation through Facebook and included it in the evidence they gave to Camanyang regarding what transpired during the hazing rituals up to Salilig’s de*th and burial.

Camanyang continued by claiming that one of their senior members from the Tau Gamma Phi Adamson chapter even advised them to behave normally once they got back to school in order to avoid being interrogated.
