There is yet hope for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. that his wish for the national rice price to be lowered to P20 per kilo will be realized. Marcos made this announcement while presiding over the Kadiwa Ng Pangulo launch in Pili, Camarines Sur.
The initiative aims to offer direct sales of their respective goods to farmers, fishers, and even micro, small, and medium-sized companies (MSMEs).
“Makikita ninyo ‘yung bigas, ang aking pangarap na sinabi na bago ako umupo na sana maipababa natin ang presyo ng bigas ng P20, hindi pa tayo umaabot doon… dahan-dahan palapit, nasa P25 na tayo, kaunti na lang maibababa natin ‘yan,” Marcos stated in his address.
You may get rice for P25 per kilo from Kadiwa vendors. The president claims that there are currently more than 500 Kadiwa booths around the nation where goods may be purchased for less money.
Well-milled rice costs between P40 and P46 per kilo in Metro Manila markets as of March 15 under the Department of Agriculture’s price monitoring program.
The two-day trade show will take place at Barangay Palestina in Pili town, and about 20 exhibitors, or Kadiwa partners, are scheduled to offer their goods there.
