Mars Ravelo’s Daughter Wants Daniel Padilla To Play Captain Barbell

That Girl

Captain Barbell is a Filipino superhero that was created by Mars Ravelo and Jim Fernandez.

Roberta Ravelo, the daughter of Mars Ravelo, stated that she favors Daniel Padilla for the role of Captain Barbell.

Although Ravelo based his origins on Captain America, his characteristics are similar to those of American fictional superheroes Superman, Captain Marvel or Shazam from DC Comics, and Thor.

He made his debut in Pinoy Komiks #1 on May 23, 1963. He appeared in Kampeon Komiks as well.
Enteng, a little kid, raises the enchanted barbell in this tale to become Captain Barbell. The actual barbell that we are familiar with was presented to Enteng by an elderly guy in earlier Captain Barbell movies.

Roberta Ravelo, the daughter of Mars Ravelo, disclosed that the Kapamilya network is exploring remakes of Dyesebel and Captain Barbell during the media presentation for “Darna” on Monday.

In the event that “Captain Barbell” gets remade, she stated that Daniel Padilla, an actor, is a possibility for the role.

“Talagang malaki ang ginawa ng ABS, malaking tulong. Talagang maganda ang pagkakagawa compared to others…”

“So far, ‘yun ang the best, number 1 talaga ‘yung Darna (ni ABS).”

According to Roberta Ravelo, she hopes that ABS-CBN will continue to bring to life the iconic comic books of her late cartoonist father, especially “Captain Barbell.” She said, if she had the choice, she would want King of Hearts Daniel Padilla to play Captain Barbell.

She also hoped that Daniel’s real-life girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo will be his leading lady in the remake.

She said, “Magandang love team. Di ba kasi ikakasal sila. Malaki ang maitutulong nila sa Captain Barbell.”

When he was still on the Kapuso network, Richard Gutierrez, a Kapamilya actor, was the most well-known Captain Barbell.

Roberta also aspires for a remake of “Lastikman,” which Vic Sotto and Vhong Navarro have portrayed in the film.
