Coco Martin’s current primetime series, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, is having a problem, according to MTRCB.

Muslims are a cultural minority in the Philippines, and unfavorable media portrayals of them appear to have a significant influence on them.

And their image, which was portrayed negatively in “Batang Quiapo,” prompted some of them to rally.

Lala Sotto-Antonio, Chair of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB), responded to the situation.

They have acknowledged the Honorable Ziaur-Rahman Alonto Adiong’s concern. As a result, “discriminatory and offensive portrayals” of Filipino Muslims not only affect our Muslim brothers and sisters, but also “counter the call to unity” of President Bongbong Marcos.

“We are institutionalizing guidelines that are responsive to cultural sensitivities of Filipino-Muslim viewers,” the statement added. CCM Production has publicly apologized to the agency.

The show airs from Monday to Friday at 8 p.m. on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, Cinemo, A2Z, TV5, iWantTFC, and TFC, as well as TFC.
