After an accusation scammer poses as Wowowin host “Willie Revillame” and guarantees her a cash prize, a woman loses P10,000 in a scam.

Instead of receiving help, a woman who requested help on the TV show ‘Wowowin’ had her money stolen. The victim was identified as Ruvy Gael, a Brgy resident. Talisoy, Jomalig, and Quezon are all places in Quezon.

According to the victim’s police statement, she was watching Wowowin on her phone when she decided to respond in the comment section to help her brother. She made a comment about her brother’s treatment, who has a head wound, according to her.

“Sir kahit panggamot lang ng kapatid kong bunso na di naaalis ang sugat sa ulo. Sana po matawagan niyo kami”, at saka nito inilagay ang kanyang cellphone number,” she said

Following that, she received a phone call from the show’s presenter, Willie Revillame, informing her that she had won P10,000. She was instructed to go to the nearest G Cash Remittance Center to receive her prize.

The caller, however, urged the unwitting victim to pay into a GCash account rather than cash out. The phone number 09351055265 and the name Wenalyn T are provided by the fraudster.

When the G Cash teller charged her the P10,000 she had put to the provided account number, the victim was taken aback. The victim was forced to pay and then complained to the police.
