On Wednesday afternoon, a magnitude 7.3 earthquake rattled Sarangani, Davao Occidental, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
According to its earthquake advisory, the quake’s epicenter was 352 kilometers S 30° E of Sarangani, Davao Occidental. It happened at 2:06 p.m.
According to PHIVOLCS, the tectonic earthquake was also 64 kilometers deep.
According to the agency, the following instrumental intensities were reported:
Intensity II – Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental; Nabunturan, Davao de Oro; Glan and Kiamba, Sarangani; General Santos City, Tupi, Santo Niño, Koronadal City, and T’Boli, South Cotabato; and
Intensity I – Kidapawan City, Cotabato; Maitum and Maasim, Sarangani; Tantangan, Lake Sebu, Tampakan, Suralla, and Norala, South Cotabato; Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur.
