According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Administration, a low-pressure area outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) is causing rain showers in many parts of Mindanao, the Visayas, and parts of Bicol on Thursday (Pagasa).

In an early morning update, Pagasa weather specialist Benison Estareja stated that the LPA was spotted 1,265 kilometers east of Mindanao and is expected to enter the PAR on Thursday and swirl toward the Caraga region, Eastern Visayas, and Bicoil region in the coming days.

According to Estareja, the LPA has a moderate chance of intensifying into a storm.

Meanwhile, cloudy skies and scattered rain showers are expected across the country as a result of the shearline, according to Estareja.

Pagasa warned that flash floods and landslides are possible in rain-stricken areas.

Pagasa also issued gale warnings for Northern Luzon’s seaboards.
