The volleyball players from Choco Mucho have been defended by the organization against criticism that they ignored their fans.

On December 1, 2022, a video posted by a netizen that depicted the Choco Mucho Flying Titans volleyball team allegedly ignoring fans who approached them while visiting Boracay went viral on Tiktok.

The fans approached the team’s star players one at a time as they boarded their shuttle, as seen and heard in the video, but most of them just kept walking, with the exception of Bea de Leon, who gave them a single nod.

The Choco Mucho team’s video quickly became popular and elicited a range of responses from volleyball enthusiasts and well-known figures, including Kuya Kim. On December 4, 2022, the Kapuso host vented his annoyance with what he saw via a Facebook post.

The 24 Oras trivia master thinks it is sad to see such interactions between fans and public figures. Rendon Labrador, a motivational speaker in addition to Kuya Kim, spoke first.

“Sino po ang coach nitong mga ito? Dagdagan pa natin ng konti pang training sa good manners & right conduct,” Rendon stated.

The alleged snub that the volleyball players allegedly gave to their fans while they were on vacation in Boracay has been addressed by the management of Choco Mucho.

Following backlash from the public, the management of the well-known Premier Volleyball League (PVL) team defended its players in a social media post on Monday.

“The team was in Boracay recently for a short break after a busy year of heartbreaking finishes. A video clip from that trip went viral, with netizens portraying some of our players as snobs who lack “good manners and right conduct.”

“Unfortunately, what is not included in the viral clip are other videos online showing the players acknowledging and talking to fans, and accommodating selfies and videos with them while trying to have their break.”
