The Cosmo Manila 2022 bikini open was held on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Skydome of SM North EDSA in Quezon City.
Jovy Angel, 22, and Morena Carlos, 24, were crowned Cosmo Manila 2022’s King and Queen.
They will each receive a cash prize of P200,000 for winning the crown and scepter, and they will also be eligible for cash prizes in special awards.
The contest’s judges are Director Jeffrey Jeturian, Director Jay Altarejos, and Bb. Joyce Penas Pilarsky. Christian Singson, Joni McNab, Anthony Flores, Mr. Louie Gamboa, Mr. Gus Apostol, Angeline Alip, Karlo Vergara, John Minas, Dr. Ramon Ramos, Mannix Carancho, and Aaron Domingo are among those who have participated.
The finalists competed in four rounds before eight couples were chosen for the final battle.
Simon Abrenica and Morena Carlos won “Best in LED Costume” in the first segment.
They also appeared in Sonny Mindo’s third segment, “Runway Bikini.”
Jovy Angel and Scarlett Johansson won Best in Show for their costumes in the second segment.
Cosmo Bikini by JPP, Jovy Angel, and Morena Carlos performed in the fourth segment.
Morena announced the judges’ verdicts. He took three of the four segments.
Simon and Jovy had won two segments, so I expected them to fight hard in the final rampage.
Of course, the Top 8 Kings and Top 8 Queens rose the most in each of the four segments. In the ultimate rampage, the finalists’ scores are reset to zero.
Among the women, Morena stood out, while Jovy took first place and Simon finished fifth.
Take note that the press darlings Nash Mendoza and Sahara Cruz, as well as their runners-up, RJ de Vera and Anita Gomez, are all among the Top 5 Cosmo Manila Kings and Queens.
The selection of press and vloggers at the mediacon on October 23 at Le Reve events venue had no bearing on the scores, but those darlings for them demonstrated their brilliance in the grand finals.
Simon Abrenica and Anita Gomez, the winners of the best Halloween costume at the October 31 party, and my personal Spider-Man and Spider-Woman bets, RJ de Vera and Morena Carlos, are all in the Top 5.
