The sudden collapse of a portion of the sidewalk along Medina Street, Barangay Pio del Pilar in Makati, on Sunday night shocked several residents.

According to the CCTV footage, it was after eleven o’clock last night when a section of the sidewalk and yellow grills crashed down and fell into the creek next to it. A dog that was there in its collapse area can also be seen.

The damaged sidewalk extends for more than sixty meters.

According to a neighbor who lives directly across the street, he had previously noticed a problem with the sidewalk.

The Makati local government will conduct an investigation this morning to identify the possible reason for the sidewalk collapse, according to Barangay Pio del Pilar. A clearing operation will also take place, and all vehicles parked along the road will be told to remove.

The barangay also stated that the LGU will quickly rebuild the specified sidewalk considering that it is dangerous and may lead to accidents, particularly to pedestrians.
