Sharon Cuneta, an entertainment veteran, turned to social media to post a video of herself performing her classic “Bituin Walang Ninging” in concert for the first time since her “real screen partner” Cherie Gil died last August.

Cuneta posted an emotional performance of the title song from her and Gil’s 1985 classic film “Bituin Walang Ninging” in Adelaide, Australia, on

“‘Di ko alam paano ko kakantahin kagabi… but I know she was right beside me,” Cuneta wrote.

Cuneta is in Australia for her performance tour, which began on October 15 at Adelaide’s Woodville Town Hall.

She will also perform in Perth on October 22, Sydney on October 28, and Melbourne on October 29 Sunday night.

Cuneta paid respect to Gil during her appearance on “ASAP Natin ‘To” in August, emphasizing that there is only “one Cherie Gil.”

“There’s only one Cherie [Gil], and I feel like half of my past has been wiped, as well as a large part of my heart, since we loved each other so passionately,” Cuneta remarked of her companion.

“Thank you for your contribution to the film industry here. An era has ended because you’re gone too soon. I miss you and I will never allow this country to forget you,” Cuneta added.

Gil was known as “La Primera Contravida” in the local entertainment for more than five decades.

The famed actress, born Evangeline Rose Gil Eigenmann, was considered Hollywood royalty, being a member of the celebrity Eigenmann clan.
