MPL Season 10: Echo puts Defending Champions RSG on the Verge of Elimination

Echo Philippines defeated RSG Philippines 3-1 in the MPL Season 10 upper bracket semifinals at the Blue Leaf Cosmopolitan in Quezon City to advance to the M4 world championships. 

As a result, RSG is on the verge of being eliminated as it drops to the lower bracket.

RSG’s Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto stole the lord from under Echo’s noses in the 14th minute to bring them back into the match.

After a three-man takedown in the 21st minute, with Sanford “Sanford” Vinuya drawing a double kill and leaving Arvee “Aqua” Arvonio and Dylan “Light” Catipon to defend the base.

Aqua was able to disable Sanji and deplete the health of the remaining Echo players, but Echo was able to take down the defending champs’ base just in time.

In Game 1, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno had one kill, nine assists, and near-perfect control of the objectives.

RSG’s botched team fight for the three-man takedown and free enhanced lord in the 12th minute to pull ahead of a brave RSG squad.

In the 23rd minute, KarlTzy stole the lord from RSG, giving Echo an opening. Echo went for the push with RSG’s health depleted, resulting in a near-wipeout, the base takedown, and match point.

In Game 2, Fredric “BennyQT” Gonzales led the way for Echo Philippines with 10 kills and 3 assists.

With its lead dwindling in Game 3, RSG pulled off a four-man takedown in the 15th minute, with Emann taking the mega kill to regain control of the map.

RSG forced a Game 4 with another near-annihilation in the 19th minute, thanks to Nathanael “Nathzzz” Estrologo’s 6 kills and 17 assists.

Despite a strong start from RSG in Game 4, Echo went on to win, relegating the defending champions to the lower bracket.

To stay afloat, Echo Philippines took the lord, but Demonkite came away with the double kill.


With Echo at their door, Emann and Demonkite went for a two-man takedown to advance. However, Echo used a backdoor strategy to win the game.

On Saturday, Echo will face the winner of the match between Blacklist International and Bren Esports, while RSG will face the losing team.
