Yeng Guiao’s appointment as head coach of Rain or Shine, a team he led to two championships in 2012 and 2016, was welcomed by basketball fans in the Philippines.

Just few days after the seasoned Philippine Basketball Association coach departed the NLEX Road Warriors after leading the team for six years, RoS revealed Guiao’s return on Monday, September 5.

Fans embraced Guiao’s comeback.

A Facebook user penned, “Favorite Coach sa mga independent teams welcome back coach!” 

A fan wrote online, “Wow! welcome back coach Yeng! I’m sure the young guns will improve more under your wings. Go Rain or Shine!!” 

A Facebook fan wished for the return of former players Jeff Chan and Paul Lee, writing, “Naiiyak ako hahahaha TBH. Thank you for coming back, our beloved Coach!”

There are just three players left on the RoS roster that Guiao previously coached: Gabe Norwood, Beau Belga, and Jewel Ponferrada.
