Due to a Sugar Shortage, Soft Drink plants in Bohol and Iloilo have Suspended Operations

According to announcements posted on the premises, operations at the Coca-Cola Philippines bottling plants in Tagbilaran City, Bohol, and Pavia, Iloilo, were suspended on Friday due to a sugar shortage.

It was announced outside the premises that operations would be halted due to a shortage of bottler’s grade sugar.

“This Coca Cola plant has suspended bottling operations due to the lack of supply of bottlers grade sugar as a result of the ongoing sugar crisis,” The announcement was made outside the company’s Iloilo plant.

Some other bottling plants in the country have also shut down.

Premium refined sugar is in short supply in the industry.

Premium refined sugar is an important ingredient in the production of soda and other sweetened beverages.
