Alyssa Valdez, a former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate, has revealed that she is recovering from dengue fever.

“I am on my way to full recovery,” Alyssa posted on social media.

Alyssa stated that she was supposed to travel to Germany a few days ago to attend an Allianz event before playing for the AVC. Sadly, she tested positive for dengue.

The popular athlete admitted that the first few days of her dengue fever were “so bad,” with a high fever, body aches, and headache.

In fact, she couldn’t eat or drink anything.

Thankfully, her fever subsided after six days.

Her platelet count, however, remained dangerously low at 37, she added.

“I then experienced some complications like bleeding and a swollen liver,” Alyssa stated.

“It was at this point that my doctors decided to admit me in the hospital with some initial discussions of a blood transfusion.”

Her first few hours in the hospital were “very critical,” she said.

“Waited for all the lab results and thankfully my doctors decided not to push through with the transfusion. Thank God everything slowly got better! I’ll also have my last few lab test soon too. I am on the road to a full recovery. Thank you for all the prayers.”

The volleyball player then thanked her family for taking such good care of her.

“I am also glad to have my @allianzpnblifeofficial family beside me. I didn’t have to worry about anything because they’ve covered everything! Truly, i have confidence in tomorrow. Pls do take care everyone and I’ll see you all soon.”
