A Radio Broadcaster was Stàbbed to Death in Negros Oriental

A radio anchor and commentator from Mabinay, Negros Oriental, was stàbbed to deàth in Barangay Himocdongan on Sunday night.

The victim has been identified as Rey Blanco, who works for Power 102.1 DYRY RFM, a radio station situated in Mabinay, according to Police Maj. Paul Vincent Dumaguing, chief of Mabinay Police Station.

According to the investigation, Blanco was traveling to the suspect’s brother’s house when an incident occurred.

“Thereàt the suspect suddenly appeared from behind and without any apparent reason stàbbed the victim using a bladed weàpon hitting on the victim’s neck,” According to Dumaguing’s report,

Neighbors and adjacent barangay authorities attempted to rush the man to the Mabinay Community Hospital, but the attending physician pronounced him deàd.

The suspect voluntarily surrendered to the responding PNP officers.

He is presently being held at the aforementioned local police station.
