The queens of “Drag Race Philippines” are revving up their engines for the show’s first season, which debuted with a jeepney-themed official trailer.
The trailer for the series, which was released today, August 4, on WOWPresents’ YouTube channel, features host Paolo Ballesteros and all of the queens competing in the first season of “Drag Race Philippines.”
“Every road leads to ‘Drag Race Philippines! ‘” Ballesteros, dressed in a blue bodysuit and holding checkered racing flags, greeted fans.
The 12 queens then walked down the runway in full glam, saying things like “Barya lang po sa umaga (Only spare change in the morning),” “God knows Hudas do not pay,” and “Pull the string to stop.”
They also made reference to various things seen on Manila’s streets, such as “Bawal tumawid, nakamamatay” (No crossing, it’s deadly),” a “Good Morning” towel-inspired dress, and “takatak” boxes, which are usually held by street vendors.
“Strap in, it’s going to be a bumpy race for the crown!”

“Drag Race Philippines,” a spin-off of the reality drag competition “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” will debut globally on August 17. The show’s judges will be Filipino drag queen Jiggly Caliente and celebrity impersonator KaladKaren.
Through teaser photos released on July 27, fans finally got to see all 12 queens who will compete in the local adaptation.
Brigiding, Corazon, Eva Le Queen, Gigi Era, Lady Morgana, Marina Summers, Minty Fresh, Precious Paula Nicole, Prince, Turing, Vias DeLuxe, and Xilhouete are the queens competing this season.
