Fidel Ramos, the former president who passed away on Sunday at the age of 94, was recently honored by the former vice president.

Robredo posted her earlier Facebook post, in which she included a picture of herself with FVR and her late husband, former DILG Secretary Jesse Robredo.

She said that the late president, Fidel Ramos, had “strong support” from her late spouse. She said that during FVR’s administration, Jesse was elected president of the League of Cities.

“Jesse, who was then Mayor of Naga, was his strong supporter. In fact, he became President of the League of Cities during FVR’s incumbency,” she said. “More than this, he became a personal friend. Jesse was baptismal godfather to Patrick (Cristy and Freddie’s son), his grandson. I was also Patrick’s wedding godmother,” Robredo stated.

In addition, Robredo mentioned that she had the opportunity to travel to FVR “a number of times” throughout the 2016 election and her time serving as vice president of the Philippines.

She continued by saying that FVR consistently expressed his support. She claims to have obtained a video of FVR promising to vote for her in the most recent election.

Her family mourned FVR’s passing and reflected on the significance of his president during the post-dictatorship time, she added in her memorial post.
