Kris Aquino was diagnosed with additional autoimmune diseases after having additional medical testing in the United States, according to her sister Ballsy Aquino. Kris Aquino’s medical team has still been searching for “the right treatment” after she was confirmed with a new autoimmune disease in the US.
Kris’ eldest sister, Ballsy Aquino, provided a status update on the actress’ health on August 20 at a Zoom event hosted by the New Zealand-based group Banyuhay Aotearoa.
“Unfortunately, they are still trying to give her the right, correct treatment. She has so many allergies that all the medicines they’ve been trying haven’t been working, or maybe they did but then the side effects—they were not too happy about,” she stated.
Despite having second thoughts, Kris is determined to win the battle against her diseases for the sake of her boys, Josh and Bimby, who are “keeping her battling spirit even stronger.”
“[But the past few days], she has been in good spirits and she says that there are times—well because there was a time she was really feeling that she was about to give up because she was having such a difficult time,” Ballsy continued. “But then, when she looks at the pictures of her sons or when she sees them, then she knows she still has to fight.”
Kris also met with a new group of doctors who would oversee her future medications.
“When she left, she had two autoimmune diseases. I think now there are four,” Ballsy continued. “She’s not even 90 pounds now, she’s like 85 or 86. For the other treatments that they want to try, she has to put on more weight. She has to get a little bit stronger.”
Kris also met a new group of specialists, according to Ballsy, who may be able to assist with her disease, which has gotten even more difficult since she departed for the United States to undergo treatment. Kris recently provided an update on her health to the public in June, when she and her sons tested positive with COVID-19. At the time, she had three autoimmune diseases: autoimmune thyroiditis, chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU), and Churg Strauss syndrome (EGPA).
