Lea Salonga, a Filipino performer and Broadway star, appears in the new trailer for the upcoming HBO Max series “Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,” which was released on Thursday.

The nearly 3-minute preview introduces a new cast of “Little Liars”—high school girls who are tormented by an unknown assailant seeking vengeance for their parents’ “original sin” 20 years ago.

Salonga will play Elodie, Minnie’s (Malia Pyles) overbearing mother in “Original Sin,” who “works overtime to protect her daughter from her childhood trauma.”

Salonga appears briefly in the trailer as Elodie, seated with three other characters at a restaurant.

Salonga’s involvement in the project was first revealed in September 2021, alongside the casting of the other mothers in the series.

“Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin,” a sequel and prequel to the 7-season Freeform series that concluded in 2017, will be available to stream on HBO Max beginning July 28.
