In preparation for the MassKara Festival in October, “spaghetti wires” are being removed from the city’s key thoroughfares.

“Hopefully, when we celebrate MassKara, it will be a smiling street, not a frowning street because of the spaghetti wires,” According to Lyzander Dilag, the spokesman for Bacolod Mayor Alfredo Abelardo Benitez on Thursday, July 14,

The spaghetti wires on Lacson Street and around the Bacolod Public Plaza will be the first to be removed.

Spaghetti wires are abandoned, broken, or underutilized electrical or communications lines.

The spaghetti cables were considered an eyesore by the local authorities.
