Richard Gomez, an actor-politician, has stated that he really doesn’t want his daughter Juliana Gomez to go see his acting awards or sports achievements.

According to a GMA News Online report, Richard Gomez disclosed that he does not hold the whole of his awards from one spot during his recent appearance on the Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel podcast.

He is doing this because he just doesn’t want Juliana Gomez to know all of his victories.

“Yung acting trophies ko, sa iba’t ibang part ng bahay namin. Ayoko kasi na ilagay sa isang eskaparate lahat ng awards ko because I didn’t want to show it to Juliana,” he explained.

The actor-politician went on to say that he really does not intend to keep his trophies, but he just doesn’t want his daughter to feel intimidated.

“Kasi maraming mga anak na nai-intimidate sa parents nila, parang ‘Grabe naman ‘yung parents ko ang dami na nilang nagagawa sa buhay nila.’ Natatakot sila, that’s how they think. So hindi ko masyadong dini-display, even ‘yung mga awards ko sa sports, para they were able to accomplish something without being intimidated or being forced by their parents,” the actor-politician added.

He further stated that he wants his daughter to succeed on her own qualities, not only because of his achievements.

Richard Gomez emphasized that he desires Juliana Gomez to succeed in whatever she chooses to pursue due to her talent and abilities.

“I wanted her to grow up on her own,” the politician-actor explained.

Juliana is currently a member of the University of the Philippines’ fencing team, according to Richard.
