Ruffa Gutierrez has spoken up about her feelings about getting married again, claiming that while she is apprehensive, she knows she will not “end up alone.”

This was said by the actress in an interview with celebrity doctor Vicki Belo for the latter’s YouTube vlog today, July 14. They were discussing Gutierrez’s relationship with her ex-husband, Yilmaz Bektas, as well as whether she believed she “needed” to be with a guy.

“I think at this point in my life, I don’t need to be with a man. If I want to be with a man, it’s because I want to,” she said.

“At the end of the day, no man’s an island. You really need to be with someone for companionship, grow old with someone, hold someone’s hand….So I think at the end of the day, you have to be with your best friend.”

She stated that the relationships she has and will have will not be the same as the ones she had with Bektas because she does not feel she will have to make as many sacrifices as she did with Bektas, such as relocating to another country and changing her faith.

When asked if she had pondered remarrying, Gutierrez said she didn’t know if it would happen.

“I don’t know if I want to get married again. I’ve left that in the hands of the Lord. All I know is I’m not gonna end up alone,” she stated.

She has been in two relationships since her divorce from Bektas. One of her relationships lasted seven years, and she is now seeing someone who began as a “text mate.”

She stated, “I just want to take things slow. I don’t believe in whirlwind romances. Although for some couples it works,”.

Gutierrez then recalled discussing her new connection with her daughters, Lorin and Venice.

“They’re like, ‘Mom, it’s inevitable that we’re gonna be leaving the house so please spend time.’ I think the kids respect who I’m with. I won’t introduce them to someone that is not worth it,” she continued.

Gutierrez previously stated that she was in a “platonic relationship” with a particular someone who was seeking a government position.

Though she did not identify anybody, she appeared to imply that the mystery guy was former Quezon City mayor and 2022 senatorial contender Herbert Bautista when she said “no. 1 sa puso ko (no. 1 in my heart”) in March of last year.
