A few days before his 61st birthday on July 28, comedian Carlos (Caloy) Alde passed away suddenly on Friday, July 22, according to his family.

According to a statement sent exclusively to the Philippine Entertainment Portal today, July 25, Alde, widely known as “Ogag” and the Mr. Bean of the Philippines, had a severe heart attack.

“We rushed him to the hospital kaya lang wala na. They tried to revive him sa hospital pero talagang wala nang electric impulse ang heart niya,” his wife stated.

Alde was given a congestive heart failure and chronic renal disease diagnosis two years ago, according to Rhoda, and has since been receiving maintenance medication.

Alwyn Uytingco, a fellow actor who worked with Alde, remembered the comedian’s humor on his Facebook page last Saturday, July 23.

“‘I love nature.’ Ang joke mo na di ko malilimutan. Salamat, kuya Caloy,” Uytingco stated.

Alde has acted in several movies, such as “Mr. Suave” (2003), “Mang Kepweng: Ang Lihim ng Bandanang Itim” (2020), and “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano,” an ABS-CBN television program.
