After scoring a hat trick for her country and flag for the second time in her career, Sarina Bolden is motivated to score more goals when the Philippines plays Thailand on Tuesday in an attempt to win Group A of the Asean Football Federation Women’s Championship.

Bolden will easily appear at 7 p.m. She played in the game at Rizal Memorial Stadium after scoring all three of her goals in the second half of the Filipinas’ 4-1 victory against Indonesia the previous night.

But it wasn’t that frenzy that gave her the motivation to score goals.

Bolden added of the other tries that missed their mark during the course of the game, “I’m happy with the ones that I did finish and eager for the ones that I missed.”

Her assault enabled coach Alen Stajcic’s team to earn its fourth victory in four games, but not before they trailed 1-0 at the break after a rare lapse in defending allowed Indonesia to score.

Bolden now has 14 goals in her international career and five in the regional tournament after the performance, perhaps cementing her position as the team’s main talisman.

With the competition hitting a challenging stage and the Fifa (International Federation of Association Football) Women’s World Cup preparations being far from completion, Stajcic has placed enormous expectations on Bolden’s shoulders.

“She’s our No. 9 (main striker), she is our talisman and I think she’s a fantastic contributor to our team. And I think she’s got so much more in the tank,”Stajcic said.

“She can really be one of the world-class players within our group if she keeps working hard and she keeps on improving,” She added.
