Despite retiring after endorsing President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., the renowned host still seems to be welcome on ABS-CBN.
Toni is a singer, host, actor, producer, YouTuber, and businesswoman whose true name is Celestine Cruz Gonzaga-Soriano.
She was the long-running reality show Pinoy Big Brother’s previous main host.
She resigned from her home network, ABS-CBN, after pledging her support for President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. She has been a member of the same network for a few years.
This came after she had been heavily criticized for hosting then-presidential candidate Marcos Jr.’s campaign rally at the Philippine Arena in February 2022.
Toni Gonzaga was criticized for choosing the UniTeam hosting job despite knowing that several of the party’s supporters were behind the closure of ABS-CBN.
Toni then chose to step down as Pinoy Big Brother’s host. She suggested Bianca Gonzales-Intal to take her position.
Ultimately, allegations circulated that she had already earned a spot on former Senator Manny Villar’s TV network.
However, according to a Bandera source, “Nagkaroon na ng pag-uusap ang mga bosses ng ABS at si Toni na welcome siya anytime, pero siyempre as of now ay wala namang offer pa.”
According to the source, ABS-CBN President and CEO Carlo Lopez Katigbak recently met with BBM and discussed the actress-host.
