The Golden State Warriors won the NBA championship for the fourth time in eight seasons on Thursday night, defeating the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of the NBA playoffs.
After falling down early, the Warriors pounced on their opponents, who were hampered by errors, and built a 15-point advantage at halftime. The Celtics made a fourth-quarter rally, but the Warriors held on to win 103-90 and capture the best-of-seven series 4-2.
“Beginning of the season no one thought we would be here β¦ itβs very surreal,” as emotional Stephen Curry stated at the game’s finish.
Just two seasons ago, the Warriors had the poorest record in the NBA.
