On Thursday, June 30, 2022, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. takes his oath as the 17th President of the Philippines during the inauguration ceremony at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Manila.

President Bongbong and his family, including First Lady Atty. Liza Marcos-Araneta, together with their sons Sandro, William Vincent, and Joseph Simon, championed Filipino talent in their selected ensembles for the historic occasion.

President Bongbong disclosed in a Facebook post on Wednesday night, June 29, 2022, that he would be wearing a masterpiece by Pepito Albert.

As President Bongbong stated in his caption, “Wala nang mas angkop pang kasuotan bukas kundi ang gawang pinoy! Iwagayway ang damdaming makabayan sa isip, salita at pati na rin sa pananamit!”

The designer was inspired by the Rayadillo, a historic military costume used during the Spanish colonial period.

Director Darryl Yap stated in a Facebook post that Imee created the gown herself, and that it was brought to reality by Dubai-based fashion designer Rem Divino.

Her clothing was adorned with refurbished lockets, necklaces, and pendants that were presents from her father, former President and late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr.
